02 gt 40 sputters

Has anyone had this problem? I have 02 air gt40. When I hit the throttle it sputters but smooths out pretty quickly and runs good at cruising speed but it feels like it is hesitating a little at Wide open throttle. I replaced the cap and rotor yesterday but haven't had a chance to test it out yet. I am hoping someone has been through this and can save me a little time troubleshooting this. Any help is appreciated.

I would drain the fuel filter case first. If that didn't work I would replace the fuel filter. After that, I would do what you have already done. After that I would consult with the brain trust. Help me out y'all!

cap and rotor didn't seem to help. I checked the fuel filter and it was pretty dirty. I ordered it and should have it by Friday. I also pulled the plugs and they all looked good. I did also notice the idle was jumping around from 650 to 750 when I took it out for a test run.

After ten years, it would not be a waste of money to replace the spark plug wires also, and the plugs.

I changed fuel filter, plugs and wires, runs great. I ordered the parts from Nautiqueparts.com and it only took 4 days for the parts to come in. I just wanted to post the fix in case someone is having the same problems.
