OMG got very lucky but now what(drive shaft seal) NEED HELP

I was checking everything out before we head to the lake and I notices my port side air intake how was half gone? Hmmmm aliens?

Nope somehow the other end near the drive shaft.... yup the drive shaft...!!!

So after 2 hours of **** in the hot sun I manage to get the thing unwrapped(see picture can't attach video but here is a PICASSA link)

Now for the question I have a watercooled shaft coupler. I can now shove it to the size maybe a 1/4 inch and water pours out? Is this right? The clamps are tight and it is up against the coupler.
It may be normal but not sure as I alway thought these were sealed and drained the the water through the seal? Of course underway they won't get shoved to the side so maybe I am ok?

Bruised, cut and tired I gave up.....

I figured out the collar has two set screws and that it needs pre-load i.e. it needs to be pushed against the bellows. This is an easy feat on a bench or a direct drive but under a v-drive in a 220 is a nightmare. I got the allen's loose I got a small ball peen and tried to tap it closer to the bellows. I think I got 1/8" closer but in a ridiculous position and not much throw to hit the collar.

I started it up and no major leaks so I'll give it a whirl still soem play if I grab the supply hose and push however. If anyone has idea on how to preload that collar send me a note.

cool video showing basics of the Dripless shaft ( no way to get the 1" of compression in stalled ;-)
