I was out in the boat earlier today and everything was running great. I had a broken battery terminal and I replaced it with a new one. Now the gauges aren't reading anything at all. They are all just zero'd out. Boat starts, all switches work, keypad and all lights working just fine. The only thing that seems to be malfunctioning is the gauge cluster (tach, speedo, perfect pass, oil temp, amps etc...) I checked the breakers and all is good there. Is there a fuse or something else you could lead me to that might help with this? One other thing I had tried earlier is plugging something into the 12v outlets. Not sure if that might have sorted something or overloaded a circuit?? Thanks in advance for your help.

Make sure there aren't any breakers tripped, but I would put money on the gateway computer went south. Same thing that happened to me, everything worked, except the gauges. If it is that, it isn't cheap, like 700 for the parts.

All of the breakers are fine, nothing is tripped. Are there any fuses between the Power source and the gateway and the Faria gauges? How about maybe a fuse on the gateway itself? I can't imagine disconnecting and reconnecting a battery would fry the thing.

Well, not sure why, but all is back to normal. Per the dealer, I tried to "reboot" the gateway by cutting all power again, with no luck. Then, randomly, I tried to start the boat but had accidentally left the throttle barely out of neutral. Of course, the boat wouldn't start, but the gauges all came back to life!! Threw it in neutral and started right up. Gauges are still on, for now. Let's hope it it was a fluke. One more thing...I also have a stereo in the boat and when I connected the fuse, it sparked. It's done that before, but this was bigger than normal. Maybe that had something to do with it too. The boat runs, gauges on, whether that fuse is connected or not, but that electrical impulse might have done something. Not really sure, but I am just happy the gateway wasn't bad. Current prices $895. Just putting all the details out there in case one of you run into the same issue.
