Hit rock: Going to need fiberglass and structure help in California Bay Area

Well the good news is no one in my family was hurt.

We hit granite 200 yards of shore while pulling boarder at speed. Prop toast rudder shoved into hull, hull gouged.

    Guess
I'll get to fix that dripless seal now

    so bummed

Sorry to hear that! Where did it happen?
Topside marine should be able to take good care of that.

It was on Lake Oroville in Norther California great lake just bad luck.

I will quote Central Valley and Topside.... it is going to need some major work. Rudder is shoved up in the engine compartment, lots of cracks near strut. We will se what Allstate does ;-)

I remember a similar accident a PN member had a couple of years ago (similiar damage), and the boat ended up being considered totaled. You may be pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised, depending how you look at it, of the extent of hull damage you have from the rudder puncture. If I recall correctly, it was a tracking fin or two that puntured the hull of a new 230.

Sorry to hear, that is a huge bummer. Where on Orville? Hope this happened near the end of your trip. I would go to a place like Aquarius Boat Works at the Santa Cruz harbor (or someplace similar in the Bay Area). They are more proficient in major repairs. I'm pretty sure CV would sub it out anyway...
