Helm Ballast Controls

Are these to be left open or closed while riding? I notice water comes out when they are closed and you are turning. if they are open they will always be filling, right? What to do...

It doesn't really matter while you are riding unless you want to ski. If you are wakeboarding I would leave them open. If you want to stop approximately 90% of the water intake, close the helm controls. If you want to stop every bit of water from coming in, close the controls in the back engine compartment. When pulling it out of the water and trailering, leave them open to let them completely drain. The water coming out when you turn is the overflow.
