    Hot Water leaking on floor

    Hi guys,

Maybe you can help me solve a mystery before I have to tear the boat apart. When driving the boat, I believe it happen more so with ballast full, the floor gets wet right in front and/or beside the drivers seat. Something is leaking...but what?!? The weird part is the water is HOT. This makes me doubt it's the front ballast (I have a v drive sack under the bow seats plumbed in).

I haven't looked into it a ton (i.e. taking out kickplate etc.) just wondering if anyone would know what it was off the top of their head and save me investigation time.

I know this is pretty vague, just throwing it out there for ideas.

Classic symptoms of leaking heater core. The heater is in front of driver's feet. When core fails hot water leaks out. Maybe loose hose connection to heater but usually the core fails. Heatercraft is the manufacturer.

Yep, just took mine out this spring. I don't care about the heater, so I just took it out and connected the hoses together. If I ever sell the boat I may replace the core, but until then, one less thing to worry about/winterize.

It was kind of a PITA to get it out with all the wires and crap behind the kick panel, but took no more than an hour.

Same thing happened to be just today. Used a coupling to join both hoses together as a temp fix. I was having on He** of a time trying to remove the kick plate. Any suggestions? My boat is 2000 PAN. I could access the heater core through the bow seats, but I'm convinced I'll have to go through the kick plate area to get the heater out eventually. Thanks for the tips on temp fixes guys!!
