engine does not have spark at points

I have a 1990 Ski Nautique with a PCM 351 with a Prestolite mechanical advance distributor with points. It started running really rough and would not idle, so I replaced the points, condensor, coil, plug wires and plugs. After replacing all these parts we cannot get the engine to fire. Checked to see if we lost our ground, but can not get any spark at the points using a wire to ground the system. Any ideal what has happened?.

Start tracking backwards. Juice from the coil? Safety lanyard? I've bought and installed new wires only to find one is faulty before.

Well - if it fired before you worked on it, and it doesn't fire now.....you need to re-trace your steps.
