Help Help Help. 2001 SAN trouble shoot

Went out surfing tonight and had a few issues. We were going along and I smelled rubber burning. Looked and the alternator belt blew. We only drove a few minutes after the smell. The alternator pully was so hot that the paint on the pully burned off.

I then drove to the landing which took about 5 minutes at idle speed. The next issue is the motor seemed really warm, almost hot. After loading and driving home which took 45 minutes the engine was still really warm. Any idea why or is it always that warm and I never noticed. I did check the impeller and it was fine. The exhaust hose and all engine hoses seemed really warm.

Please help, had some neighbors coming to the cabin this weekend and needed the boat.
