    Fuel Gauge stuck on Empty

Went out this morning and everything good. Go out later and the fuel gauge is showing E when I know i have a half tank. I immediately think fuel sending unit but I call up the Hours Remaining until empty onnthe digital dash and it reads exactly what it was reading this morning when I was looking at it (it doesn't stay at one number like its stuck it bounces around a bit). I'm thinking that system must be getting a fuel level reading from somewhere so the sender must be working. Bad gauge possibly? Anyone see this before?

The only thing I was doing before it failed was play with some Perfect Pass settings. I can't see any correlation there.

    Boat is 2008 SV211

    Thanks

Same problem here. I've got a 2007 SV211 that I just took out of winter storage. I stored it full and never had a gauge issue. The tank read empty so I was thought I lost my mind and must not have filled up the tank. So went to top it off it was full. Put 3 hours on the boat and filled it up again and still reads empty. Called the winterizer and he said. "Hit some rough chop and the float will unstick." Did and it didn't. Did you figure it out?

I Had this same issue as well including some of my ballast tanks as well. Sending Units are pretty expensive to me for what they are. You can get them from www.nautiqueparts.com. On my thread I had going on this issue a fellow member gave me a good site. Check out this link http://www.wemausa.com/tank-sensors/

I had the same issue on my 230 and they said it was a loose wire. Not sure if that's the case but I was told when you first turn on the boat the gauge should move a little if it does then your gauge is good. Also if its easy to access the fuel tank you can take the fuel float ( don't know the actually name) lose pull it straight up and see if the float is stuck. Once again idk much about it but this is what my dealer told me to try before I brought in and that's when they found the loose wire ( ground wire I believe)

I just had the same problem.. 1995 Super Sport.. fuel gauge showed empty.. so went to gas station and filled until it puked out the overflow.. (it wasnt empty the gauge was WAY off.. ). I took the sending unit out of the tank (not a big project).. just remove the floor panel, unscrew the 8 small bolts, pull the sender out. I thought I would see if the sender worked.. so I had everything on in the garage, pulled the sender and manipulated it by hand full/empty.. the gauge on the dash showed full/empty.. that worked- check.. then I unplugged the sender and tried the float in the sink (only stuck the cork float into water, NOT the sender mechanism.)!! the cork float works fine (in water).. BUT.. I think gas is a different density (sorry not a chemist), but I then took some gas in a small jug I cut off and tried the cork float... NO! the cork float sank!.. so.. from this I figured the cork float works in water but not in gas.. (it just sank and didnt move the sender.. Had to get on the lake, so I pulled the OEM Cork float OFF the lever.... then grabbed 2 Merlot Wine corks.. ok, maybe it was Pinot Grigio, but I drilled them both and placed them on the lever... tried the gas jug float and it worked!! level now floats in GAS... (so I made sure the two corks would not fall off with a little wire) and re-assembled the sender into the gas tank... BAM! Gauge shows FULL.. problem solved... until I can find a replacement OEM cork piece.... it really should be a little bigger than two wine corks, but hey... this fixed my problem.. hope it helps solve your problem.. pull the sender, make sure it moves the gauge by lifting the lever with your hand.. if that works, the sender is fine.. if it doesnt, then there are bigger issues.. ALWAYS be careful when playing with the fuel tank and open gas.. no sparks or cigarettes allowed!!
