Rear tank senders seem to get stuck empty position until completely full

Both the rear tank senders when filling stay showing empty until full then the gauge goes all the way up. Down seems to work fine. I have taken them out and can move the float manually and all is fine.

It is almost like they get stuck at bottom and then break loose after full. I looked in tanks they look fine.

Thoughts?

Mine sometimes do the same. if you stop the pumps halfway they will jump to half.

Same problem, 2007 boat. I don't think they are the sensor errors. As the pump stops&starts they will follow the level.

Hmmm, I am glad I posted as I was too stupid to think about cycling the pump off/on. Thanks. Must be something to do with pressure as it fills...

This is a known issue with CC's ballast systems until around 2010 I believe. I have a 2008 SANTE 210 that has the exact same problem - bothered me so much that I called the factory about it. They said it was a design flaw that they later corrected in the newer models (2010+ I think he said). Best thing to do if it bothers you is hit fill, wait 30 seconds - 1 minute, turn off...then hit fill again and the gauges should start reading then. CC said that the water comes in with such force that it buries the sensor/sending unit (thus reading empty as they fill).

Thats what I was thinking was happening, the force of the incoming water and the sending unit being next to the inlet will keep the float down.

CC did not fix on all 2010 my starboard tank does the same thing: not until full does it registers, I know this, so no big deal but some times wonder if pump is working but presto ,the yellow appears and your ready to go!

It might be an easy fix, piece of a floaty noodle and a zip tie. Cut the noodle and zip tie a piece about the size of the float on the sending unit around the float. That should make it pop up even with the water force on it. Might try it next time I bend and have to take out one of mine out. Then again I either run full or empty never half.



EDIT; nevermind the hole in the tank is just the size of the float. I'll just live with it.
