I am trying to figure out a place for my tower speaker amp (which is 21" long). The port side gunnel looks to be the best option I have. However, I note that the horn vent is located there, and that is my surf side. Has anyone had any trouble with water coming in that vent? There appears to be a semi-permeable substance between the actual exterior vent and the interior cabin. I have never noticed anything getting wet in there before, but I thought I would pose the question. I could always make it water tight if I have to, but I have enough work to do already, so anything that I do not have to do at this point is something I would prefer not to do.

Going to have to fill in that membrane. Mine is not waterproof. Got water on the amp from rain the other day. It seemed like just a little, and I removed it and am drying it out in the presence of damp rid presently, so hopefully it will still work once I give it a few days (not a marine amp). Now
