'02 Super Air bilge pump issues

I just notice my '02SAN has started tripping the bilge breaker. Just wondering if anyone else may have experienced this issue and what your resolution was. My assumptions are that one or both of the pumps is either worn to the point of putting excessive load on the circuit, or I may have a bad connection on either end of the circuit causing excessive current draw. Thanks in advance for any troubleshooting input.

It cannot hurt to clean the pumps out. Make sure nothing is stalling the impeller in the pump. Bilge pumps also get a gooey slime built up in them, that although it still turns slowly, it still drags the impeller speed down.

I have worked on a Correct Craft boat that has both the power and ground wire for the rear bilge pump under a washer, that was on a bolt that held the rear hatch hinge. Eventually the washer squished through the insulation on both wires, and shorted the bilge pump breaker.

Does it run at all or just trip it right away? I would put money on one of the pumps is bad and just needs replaced. I would just do both at the same time as I assume they are original.

Just had this problem on my 02. My midship bilge pump was tripping the breaker after about 10 seconds of running it. I replaced the pump and it works great.
