2006 PCM 5.7 throttle linkage broke

Was running the boat today and came upon some large waves. They hit the hull pretty hard and I guess as I was throttling down the boat suddenly went into idle and would not throttle up. Goes in gear but can't increase the RPM. So I limp to the dock remove the engine cover and find the (throttle control?) broken off the mount on the top of the motor. Once I turned off the engine and restarted it i was able to increase the RPM. Did not test it too hard but seemed to work ok. Has this ever happend to any one else? I assume the reason I could not rev the motor is that it triggerd a safety? Any thoughts.

    thanks,
    John

Any idea how much a new controll costs? Electronics appear ok so I only need to replace the mechanical part. Hope they sell them separately.

If you are talking about the perfect pass servo motor, I had it happen to me. I tied the string around the bracket so I could have manual control until I got it fixed. It cost me a new servo, like 200 iirc. No big deal
