    1980 Barefoot bung location?

Does anyone know where the bung might be on a 1980 Barefoot Nautique? There is not one under the swim platform where I expected it to be and can’t find one anywhere, I assume it does have one.

    Any help much appreciated.

Assuming by "bung" you mean the plug, it should be
    in the engine compartment.

Open the engine compartment. It should be in the front
of the hole, approximately under the water pump/belts.

It should be a brass handle which sticks out of the floor
3 or 4 inches. It screws in and out.

I dont' believe that any of the direct drive nautiques
have a "bung" or plug in the back of the boat under the
swim platform (though the V drives do).

    Hope this helps.

    If not, please disregard.

I did see something there and I gave it a tug but as this is my first boat I was unsure weather it screws in or just pushes in and didn’t want to force it and break it, also where does it drain out from? The prop shaft maybe?

Most of the time, your bilge pump provides the "drainage" of any
water that might get in the boat. So long as you
have it switched to the on position, the bilge detects when there
is water in the boat, and pumps it out through a tube in the
        side of the boat.

When you have the boat in storage, want to prevent the rain
from filling it, etc., then you can remove the plug. Agian,
the plug screws out. There is a brass femail fitting molded
into the bottom of your boat. The male brass plug screws
into it. When removed, there is an approximately 3/4 inch
hole in the bottom of your boat, which provides drainage.

Incidentally, the plug hole is also usually used to drain the oil
during an oil change. The oil drain hose is placed through the
plug hole, and the oil can then easily be drained into a recycle
        container from underneath the boat.

tried to resist the urge....but can't

The bung location is dependent upon how hard you fall....head or butt first....and of course how good of construction your barefoot shorts and suit are......

              sorry
