V drive screen question and Tranny while I have your attention

I have changed this once/twice and its due for another. I provided a picture of the v-drive. I normally drain through the drain plug and fill through the check dip stick tube - I see another knob looking thing where it says oil fill but its painted over - is this where the oil goes in? Can someone please point out where the screens are that I should check and how hard are they to get to?

Tranny - Is it wrong to just suck up through the dip stick hole and replace as much as removed, check and tune as needed? I just want to be sure I am getting enough out to make a difference?

You are correct, the port with the red tag around it in your pic is a breather/fill port. It just unscrews, the paint will crack off when you put a wrench to it, but that's no bid deal. I believe the screens your are referring to can't be accessed unless the V-drive oil pan is removed (one bolt in each corner of the oil pan).

For the tranny: the only way to get the oil out is through the dipstick. I used the same method as you mentioned when I changed mine.
