    An exercise in futility

Actually turned out for the better.

I went to a local 4 lake chain that I have been wanting to go back to ever since I first went on it 2 years ago in a buddy's boat. It is much larger and deeper than my home lake so I went there in hopes of sub 90* water and slightly less wave action from other boats.

I get to the dock and it is down lower than usual, back of the trailer and all is well, start my day on the water and we find ourselve 300' off the shore line and in 2' of water :/

Long story short my prop that only has 10 hours on it gets bent at the tip, bent over about the size of a tumb digit by about 15* or more. She had a slight vibration coming out of the hole before but now it's vibration city from start to WOT

So I come home and spend a week shopping for a new prop. Didn't make a decision and the weekend is upon me so I decide to do a little hammer and dolly to try and take out as much vibration as I can so I can use it for another week without vibrating the crap out of my drive train. I eye ball it back in place and hit the lake.

Launch off the dock...head to open water and now I'm struggling to find a vibration at any speed or throttle setting!!!!!

Apparently I have a laser calibrated eyeball... at any rate I'm just stoked to have that monkey off my back!! Thought I'd share a rare "got out cheap" boat story.

I know it, stopping the vibration was never my intent. I knew that would take an experienced prop machinist. To eyeball it like that made my day.

Not trying to rain on your parade, but you should still have that prop looked at. I seriously doubt you got it perfect with a hammer and eyeball. Better safe than sorry on this. Much cheaper to repair that prop than all the other things that could be damaged if the prop isn't perfect.
