I just had my steering cable replaced by our marina and now when you are driving a straight line, the steering wheel is 90 degrees off to the right. Is there an easy way to fix this problem so I don't have to trailer the boat back to our marina? Thanks!!

RE: Steering Wheel Not Centered
There are a couple of ways to do it. You can pull the center button off the steering wheel, remove the nut and washer and reindex the steering wheel on the splined shaft or you can remove the six hex bolts that hold the wheel on the hub but this only allows you to index it in six places and you may not get it exactly centered.

RE: Steering Wheel Not Centered
A better way would be to get the rudder straight, then undo the 4 blots that hold the steering rack to the steering pinion (under the dash). straighten the wheel, then bolt back together. would take you less that 5 minutes.

RE: Steering Wheel Not Centered
chopper. It isn't always the easiest to drop the rudder. Also, you have to decide what speed you are going to be doing most of the driving at. It won't always be straight at every single speed. Use the removal of the wheel method.
