    2003 226 Depth guage error

Any ideas for a depth gauge that repeatedly shows "shallow" every 60 seconds or so? I replaced the gauge which did not make a difference, then unplugged the connector from the gateway box, but the alarm still goes off. Now I'm totally confused, I figured a new gauge should work if I unplugged the gateway...Thanks!

I'm not certain of this but I had an old hatteras that had the transducer mounted inside the hull like my nautique. I think that the transducer is mounted in a little pocket that has to have water in it to work correct. My hatteras was that way and I noticed the nautique had a similar mount. Hope it helps.

After several discussions with Faria, and trying all the cheap fixes, I finally replaced the Gateway box - no easy task on this boat as it is mounted on the stern engine box up near the top. It did fix my problem. Thanks to the guys at White Lake - they were also very helpful.
