    Belly tank on 230/236 cracked?

So I probably did not do my research well enough before I started this project. I have a 2007 236 Team. I removed the rear hard tanks and added bags. In the belly, I took the over fill line and connected to the triangle bag underneath the front. Then used the overfill line off the bag to the side of the boat. It has been working great for 2 years. I just noticed last week that the belly tank has a crack and is leaking? Any ideas on how to fix the crack? It looks to be on the edge on the bottom of the hard tank. Removing the tank looks to be impossible without dismantling the entire boat. I obviously should have taken this vacuum situation a little more serious. A little late now. I may just have to bypass the entire tank and use a bigger bag or cut up the belly tank and remove? Any ideas? Thanks,

ps I have 750's in the locker. I think I am going to go to the 1,100 ones. Do they fit in the compartment totally filled up?

I just put 1100 sacs in 210 and fits great so I am sure you will be pleased in the 230. Someone just said in another post that to get the hard belly tank out you have to remove gas tank and slide hard ballast toward back of boat. Sounds easy enough once you run gas tank to empty, or use a siphon to empty gas tank.

I have been using this stuff on wetsuits, and tubes, but nothing hard plastic. If it was me I would put some on side of tank to see it would stick.

My 2008 210 has two piece belly tanks. The dealer replaced one by removing the gas tank and sliding the belly tank back to remove through the cockpit.

If you can reach the crack, it might be worth trying something like 3M 5200 on it. If I did that, I'd put the 5200 on and around the crack and adhere a piece of plastic (like King StarBoard) past the cracked area to provide support to (hopefully) the crack won't continue.

Depending on the type of plastic it is, the best stuff i've used for similar types of issues is two part epoxy. Comes in alot of different variations but definetly is strong.

What do you think caused the cracks in the first place - vacuum pressure from the pump on drain pulling from the bag? Is that a known/common issues - seems kinda strange it would create that much suction pressure.

        Cheers

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, I am pretty sure the vacuum created the crack. It is my understanding if the bags collapse and can no longer vent, the tanks can crack easily. I have made it 2 years, so I was just on borrowed time. On the 230/236 the belly tank is one giant tank shaped like a "u" so I am not sure how easy it will slide out. I am going to take the floor piece above the fuel tank so I can check it out. I think I am going to try epoxying the crap out of the crack and see if that works as a fix. I just ordered the 1100 pounders for the rear. If anyone wants a deal on the 750's, PM me. THanks,

                Got the 750's, thanks!
Adding those to my 220 really brought the wake to a whole new level!
And made surfing much easier, fills up the rear locker completely
