I have a 2003 SAN. It only has one stock battery and I'm looking to add a second. I know the Team Editions have a 2nd battery under the rear seat behind the driver. I would like to put my 2nd there as well. The only problem is that I will have to cut a hole in the floor to recess the battery box to get it to fit. This is the way the stock box is set up. How hard is this to do? Will there be problems (structurally) cutting this hole? and is this a good spot? Thanks!

RE: Adding 2nd battery... Where to put the 2nd battery box?
Sorry to hijack your thread, but the topic title seemed generic enough...
If anyone has any ideas for mounting one in a '94 ski, post 'em here too!
I'm thinking of mounting the box up under the bow, as far forward as I can fit it? Any better ideas?
Actiondcpd, I seem to recall someone on wakeword or wakeboarder.com doing what you are suggesting... Maybe try searching those sites. Otherwise, see if you can figure out what is below where you want to cut. If you cant get under to see, just drill a small hole, so that it is not a big deal if there is stuff under there that you cant move easily.

My team does not have the second batt, but I thought it was in the front from the factory if you have the 2nd batt.
I too would like to add a second batt there, and might just do it, i have after all removed the fiberglass hump from under the dash at the floor, so what would a second hole be.

I have mine laying on its side where the second factory battery would be, but without tearing up the floor. An Optima will lay on its side and fit under the seat frame. Works perfectly for me.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

Did you order it like that? or dealer actually got you a LIMITED with TEAM options? or CC screwed up on building a TEAM?
All TEAMS come with two.

Jeff, good idea. Maybe I will jsut buy 2 new blue tops and put the second one in under the seat on it's side and replace the old stock battery. That makes it easier. Do you have your battery in any sort of box or enclosure? You wouldn't happen to have a picture would you? Thanks a lot.

I looked into doing this too, but I couldn't find anyone who had cut out the hole where you are talking about doing it. After looking around and trying to figure out what I want to do, I decided to get two blue tops and just try to fit them somewhere. It is quite possible to put two bule tops in the factory location if you are willing to cut a little more glass from the factory location. If your willing to put them on their side, you can get them in the factory location without any cutting, but that will make it a little hard for wiring. You might want to consider that instead.
