    Fuel filter on my GT-40

I have a model year 2001 SN 196 with the Boss GT-40. Where is the replaceable fule filter for the engine? I only see the fuel control module on the front of the block. Also, I am having trouble filling the tank to full. When i fill the tank, and it is "full" it spits gas out of the small stainless port on the side of the boat below the fuel fill hole. When this happens (and you can visibaly see gas via the fill hole indicating the tank is full), the guage does not read full (between full and 3/4 tank). Any ideas?

The fuel filter is inside the the fuel control cell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6tr_Zt4hDQ
They can be very hard to get off. You'll probably need a big pipe wrench to do it. Your owners manual should have info on it. I think you can get a replacement filter from nautique parts or only inboards.

great and thank you. I just happen to have a very large pipe wrench that i am itching to use.... I saw an article on here where a guy installed his own inline fuel filter. Is that worth it?

When gas comes out of the fuel vent (small stainless port), she is most definitely full!! Your gauge is off. The vent is obviously higher than your tank, so in order for gas to be coming out of there the tank is full o' fuel.
