2006 220 Tach and Engine Temp Gauge not working

Serpentine belt shredded due to loose alternator. Belt was replaced and temp gauge and tach no longer work (all other gauges work). Service shop tried to correct by replacing the brain box -- did not fix. Tach works on the perfect pass. Any ideas?

Also - service shop said all data was being sent from the motor (could read on laptop). What is the likelihood that both gauges went at the same time and could it be related to the belt failure and or overheating of the motor?

      Andy,

We have the same results when the MIL connector is not connected.

On the connector where the service shop connected the laptop (10 pins connector) should be connected with a 2 wire connector on the boat harnass.
In our case (ZR6) the connector is on top of the engine, near the throttle arm, from there a 2 wire harnass (red and black wire if i remember) is coming from the back of the boat.

When disconnected we had the same issue as you describe.

Perhaps the shredded belt disconnected the connectors, it is in line with the belt.
