2008 SAN 230, new to me...question is this normal?

Question for the forum about '08 SAN 230, new to me and my previous boat was a 2001 SAN 210. So I will have many questions as I learn my new boat, please bear with me if I sound like a novice.

Is it normal for the bilge pump light to come on after the keypad code is entered and the start button pressed to turn on the dash?

Does the anchor light button only have one function, even though there are two icons on the button?

Ok I figured out how to use the anchor / nav light button in the owners manual.

When I enter the code and then hit start, the bilge pumps cycle and go off, but the keypad light stays on. That doesn't seem right...

yes that is right. they are automatic pumps and the light just lets you know that they are active. if you hit the button and the light goes out you will have no bilge protection. On a side note to that, the main power switch under the throttle is three position. center is off, up in main power on, down is bilge on. It allows you to leave the boat in the water and have bilge pump protection but all other power to the boat is off (as long as batt selector is not off as well)

Thanks acs220! It's just a bit different than my 210. It would run the ballast pumps once when the toggle switch was flipped on, but no light. CC must have added that feature to give people peace of mind.

Some trivia - the factory keypad in my 2006 defaulted to bilge off. Late in 2007 or early 2008 I installed a new keypad under warranty (trouble programming codes). That new keypad defaulted to bilge "on".

I'm not sure when the change occurred in production. Maybe model year 2007.

just a side note on bilge pumps, if one is faulty (shorting drawing more amps, ect.)it cuts the whole system down, happen this weekend ,David was super (white lake) talk me though the process one pump at at a time ,(un plugged) only had the middle one ( back was bad) but at least I had piece of mind , the reason why I knew something was wrong, the little light on the bilge button was just blinking .

That is interesting the keypad would change. But it is nice to get an indication that the pumps are on, and I like that the system gives a warning if one or more of the bilge pumps is failing.

The next thing I notice is that the Zero Off initializes and goes into start-up sequence, and then shuts down until the boat is started. That's normal as well I assume?

Yes, It takes the system some time to acquire the GPS signal. Just speculation, but I assume they set it up that way so Zero off comes on when you turn on power and start blower. Then it's ready to go by the time you start.
