Floor removal and Water coming in

Anybody has repack the shaft packing box. My boat is allowing too much mater in so I am sure it needs to be replaced by dont know how difficult it might be. I have a 2008 SAN 230. Any ideas. Also has anybody ever removed the floor? I lost a piece of pliers and I can hear them below the floor. I removed the screw and it was loose all the way around but something prevents it from coming out. Any ideas?

Have you visually inspected it while floating and underway?? One would hope that boat would have been equipped with a drip-less since the vee drives can be difficult to access for service. If it is not drip-less and needs servicing you may want to seriously consider adding a drip-less.

Thanks for the info. Is the drip less better than the wet saft packing? How difficult is it to do it yourself. I am mechanically inclined but I have my limitations. I have replaced the packing material in my 1996 Tige with no problems but I don't know about the SAN 230. Let me know. Thanks
