:?: I just received my new Monster Tower, and will be installing it on my '93 Barefoot Nautique (closed bow). Has anyone installed one on a BFN or Nautique Excel? Where are the best spots to mount the feet? Should I do any Fiberglass work (reinforcement) before I start my installation? I just want to avoid any mistakes because it's hard to un-drill a hole in your "Baby"! :| Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Tomfooter,
Hope someone can offer you advice from personal experience.
Did you happen to notice that there are a couple of photos
of Excel installs on Monster's website? Might be helpful, just
in terms of which mount you prefer aesthetically.

BKH,
Yes, I've looked several times at the photos on their website, but can't get a good close-up on where (exactly) they mounted their feet. Thanks for your reply!

Tomfooter, The install on my 95 SN was relatively easy. I did not have to do any reinforcement, the fiberglass thickness was greater then Monsters minimum recommendation. The governing fact for my mounting was clearing the engine cover when folding the tower down. This determined where the rear pads would be located, and then placing the front pads far enough forward so the tower would not obstruct the view of the driver, with out placing thelegs to far apart. I Also had to consider the front vent boxes on the under side. The front pads mounted just rear of the vent box. This locaton also lined up with the contour of the windsheld. Hope this helps. I would be happy to answer any other ?'s.1995 Ski Nautique, 351 EFI Ford GT 40, 310 HP, PCM 1.23: Trans. SKI & RIDE

I really like that idea! I went home and briefly looked to see if that would work on my boat, and I think it will, as long as it doesn't throw the tower too far back to lay in my back seat or make the tower look like it is straight up and down (my boat is a v-drive). But that really does look good! Thanks for your input Yellow_Flash_Colorz:!Tomfooter

I finally finished my Monster Tower installation. I took Breck-Nautique's idea and incorporated to work on my '93 BFN. It made for some close tollerences, but turned out really good. I also had great support from Tom at Monster Tower. I tell you these guys are great! Hope to post a photo soon.I tried it out by making 5 barefoot runs, and it was as advertised - rock solid and no vibration. Thanks everyone for your ideas and help. Now, maybe I can help someone with the experience I have had. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:Tomfooter

O.K., BKH. Go to monstertower.com and click on customer photos, then Correct Craft. It's the Maroon & Gray '93 Barefoot Nautique. (I would have posted the pic's here but I couldn't figure out how do the attachments - you know, computer illiterate Yellow_Flash_Colorz: )

You mean there are pictures of boats on monstertower.com :?:
I never seem to get past the bikini girls on that site
Just kidding. Nice looking boat. Seems very clean for a 91.
The installation looks great as well.

[quote="tommer12"]Is there enough room for a training boom with the tower mount? IYes, on my '93 Barefoot Nautique (V-Drive), my Barefoot International boom works great. I'm not sure on a direct drive inboard; I gues it would depend on where the "Monster Paws" (mounting feet) were positioned. But I don't see why it woouldn't work. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:Tomfooter
