    Wet sanding ?'s

I am looking at doing some wet sanding and buffing on my hull this winter.
Is it ok if I wet sand in a couple spots then buff the rest of the hull?
The wet sanded spots wont stick out after I buff and polish? I am thinking I will use the 3M 3-step process for buffing and polishing that has been recommend here.
Lastly,Do I have to remove the decals on my boat for the buffing?

    Thanks!

If you don't have a scratch or really really dry gel coat I wouldn't sand it. Go to the local body shop supply house and get a heavy wool pad and 3m super duty compound. At least I think that's what it's called. Body supply will know. Tell them what you are doing. It's almost orange in color. Start there and come back with 3m polish and wax. Stay off of the stickers!! That heavy compound will mess them up. Just work arround them. If you have small scuffs and scratches after you polish you could sand those with 1000 and then follow up with 1500 then compound. Don't let the compound dry on. Just becomes a pain in the butt to get off after that.
