On one of the trailers I did (Supra Comp TS6M) the bolts were on the side of the bunks. The other was a Calabria on a DHM trailer that the bolts went through the bottom of the bunk. I have not done it on the Nautique so maybe what I wrote does not apply. Sorry for any confusion. But certainly you don't want any bolts where the boat is going to come in contact with them.
