Heater Install Pictures in 1995 SS

I put some pictures in my album of my installation. I made a new kickpanel and covered it with Nautique carpet. I also installed the defrost vent! I haven't had it in the water yet to test it for heat, but it all works perfect electrically. The magic fitting for the GT40 on the manifold is a 1/2" NPT 45 degree elbow, male X female. I had to order it from McMaster Carr part number 4429K653. I could not find it locally at any hardware store or auto store.

      Wake_fun,
Nice install. I am waiting for mine to come in for my 97 SS I think it will be here for the weekend. The one thing I noticed on your plumbing that may be a problem is where you attached your hoses. The one of the intake is correct but I think you would have better luck by putting the other hose into the water pump. This will help it to circulate more water and stay hotter. That was how I did it on my previous boat. I wouldn't mess with yours at this point till you water test it, then if it doesn't stay hot enough give that a try. Let me know how yours works, I am curious.

Yeah, I didn't know where to hook up these hoses so I went and read some old threads on heater installs. Everyone kept saying to plumb into the starboard side on the engine, so I did. I didn't see a place on the water pump to get into (like on an old Chevy). Unless I didn't look good enough I won't test mine for awhile, I'm doing some stereo stuff right now and my entire boat is torn apart. I will let you know if I get mine out before yours.
