I have a 1995 nautique, with a 351 gt-40,multi point fuel injection.I recently discovered the head is cracked. Now here's my question, if I found a gt-40 head with 1/2 inch head bolts,f3ze casting numbers, same size valves, brass freeze out plugs, 3 bar markings,gt markings etc would this be a direct replacement head for my application? or do i have to find out the cc's of this replacement head to insure same cyl pressure side to side Thank's

I replaced the short block on my gt40 this season. used the gt40 heads and bought a standard 351w long block. Took the standard heads off and popped the gt40s on. Based on the research i did at the time as far as i can remember the gt40 heads should bolt straight onto any 351w block. i think a gt40 head is a gt40 head (not gt40p) and should be a straight swap. as long as the head bolt holes are 1/2" you should be fine. the only confusion or issue might be if it was a GT40P which would have 4 bars marked.
by the way I am nooooo expert.
best of luck!
