Help identifying intake ports on bottom of a ????? 2001 Super Sport / Super Air

Boat has Super Air decals, but weight capacity decal says it's a 2001 Super Sport. Has a factory tower. Control panel has a fill/empty button for ballasts. However, looks like the ballast system was installed after market (separate controls). I doubt there ever were factory tanks since it has carpet in the rear compartments.

This is a weird way to ask for help identifying which intake on the bottom is for ballasts and which is for the raw water intake (see pictures). I guess I find it weird that a super sport would have a ballast intake. I don't know what the heck I have.

If I'm facing the front of the boat, the protruding intake is on the right, recessed intake is on the left.
Do super sports have both and which intake does what?

The surface mounted intake is ballast. The intake that is in the pocket is the engine.

It's a Super Air. All the hulls are Super Sports, it's the options that change the model designation. It confused me at first when I got mine too. It's just what CC does. Probably saves them money to only have one decal. For example, I just traded my 2001 SAN for a 2008 SAN, and the capacity decal on it says 236.
