It won't leak but I would get it fixed asap. Once the repair is made, you will be all set. Check with your local dealer or a reputable fiberglass shop to get the work done.

Just a minor gelcoat repair, no worries!

You could actually do it yourself with some gelcoat and scotch tape, but best leave it to a pro.

my wife perormed some similar hull modifications putting our 2000 model on the trailer once.

The ramp was much steeper than she was used to approaching and she forgot to dump the ballast in the bow, so the bow was riding low already.

If in doubt at a new ramp, we just don't bury the trailer all the way to the top of the fenders now.

        RE: Gel Coat on Boat

No worries, I have chipped gel coat like that from a worn out V bunk on my old trailer (ram-lin) only mine is about 1/2" wide and about 2 feet long, but is on the centerline, so you cant see it from more than 3 feet away. It is only gel coat, and it does not hurt anything. If I ever sell my boat, I will get it fixed, otherwise, I consider it wear and tear. I had a quote done and the guy wanted $800 to do my strip and to polish up the rest of the bottom. If I were you I would consider the chances of it happening again and weight that with the cost of repair.

Been there, done that. Just get a good gel guy, and the
repair will be fine. Of the repairs I've had done, or seen done,
white seems to be the easiest for them to match/blend.

As someone already said, I'd do it before you use the boat.
If you get mud, algae, whatever in that exposed fiberglass, it is
kind of a pain because they have to grind the junk out, fix the
glass, and then do the gel work. At least that is what I was told.

This is the stuff if you want to DYI. Excellent color matching, and it's not hard to do, just takes time.
