I just bought a 2002 nqutique 196 and have a question about the drain plug sensor. does it cause the alarm in the dash to sound and is there a wiring diagram that shows the wiring for this item.
thanks,
Steve
Drain plug sensor? As far as I know, there is no sensor on the drain plug.
Are you possibly talking about a knock sensor on the block drain of the engine?

No there are two wires connected to the hull drain hole. I looked at the plug and there is a magnet in the screw in plug.
the reason I ask is because when I installed perfect pass I noticed a alarm was disconnected and I thought this might be a warning for a plug not installed.

Optional Electric Sensor in Drainplug
The optional Electronic Sensor in Drainplug
“senses” when the drainplug is installed. When
the drainplug is not installed in the drain, an alarm will sound at the dash. The
ignition system must be “unlocked” and the ignition indicator lit for this to
function. It is the responsibility of the boat operator to make certain the drain
plug is tightened sufficiently.

That's cool. I'm sure that would have been helpful for most on here once or twice.

I am pretty sure all of us have forgotten a drain plug once. However, if you need a sensor to tell to the drain plug is not in the boat every time yo launch, you probably should consider a land based recreational activity.
