      It depends. Do you have a cranking battery? What's the typical temperature when you use the boat? I tried using 1 deep cycle (deka 24m) on post 1 of my perko and the other on post 2, but decided to add a cranking battery to post 1, and put my deep cycle batteries(2 of them) on post 2 in parallel for my stereo bank. I did not feel like the deep cycle had enough juice to crank reliably.
