I really like the look of the '04 dash, I ordered the new dash insert but was wondering if anyone has experience changing this out and could offer any advice. Thanks

Tom,
I'm in the process right now. I currently have my 03 dash on my bench and the 04 guage panel drying from painting. It's a little more work that you'd expect because the Speedo hole isn't cut so, I cut mine on my drill press with my circle cutter.
The 04 guage panels are silver, just like all the remaining panels; side panel and remote stereo panel.
After taking my guage panel apart I can see that it would be simple enough to make a new panel out of Grant West's carbon fiber ABS material that I have but, I'd rather have the recessed guages than the flat carbon fiber panel.
Look for something to come out next year for the 03/04 boat owners. Plans are in the works to produce a true carbon fiber guage panel, side panel and remote stereo panel.
Give me a call if you need any help or you'd want me to do this for you.

Finished it a couple weeks ago, just now getting to posting pics.
It's definately harder than it looks. I think it looks pretty slick, it's the only one of it's kind and I think I like the darker color better than the silver the 04's come with.

Tom,
Time depends on whether you paint it or not. If so, count on another 1/2 hour or so. Must sand a little for paint to adhere because there is a clear coat on the panel.
About 20 minutes to remove dash pod. 15 minutes to remove guages. 20 - 30 minutes to figure out where the guages are gonna line up with the pod, cut the pod.
Figure out where to put the posts on the panel. 15 - 20 minutes to install guages and hook up wiring. 20 - 30 minutes to install back on boat and hook up wiring.
You can't mount all the posts because of the way the panel is curved and how it gets installed on the pod. I only have 3 posts on mine, 2 on the far right and then one in the middle.
All these times are only the actual times not including drying times and such.
