PP Install on 95 Super Sport+Tip

I installed PP this past weekend. I used two VERY strong little magnets, one in the boat and the other magnet under. I could move them around and then visually check underneath to see where I was at. Once I got it right I outlined the magnet in the boat with a felt pin and new exactly where to drill my pilot hole. Once that was done I went back under and drilled the 2" hole up into the boat. I used a lot of masking tape and the hole came out perfect!

Great idea. Looks like a clean install too. Have you water tested yet?

      Thanks.
I haven't had it out yet. My interior is torn all apart doing stereo stuff right now. I'm dying to try it out though!

Nice pic's. Did you just use a 2" hole saw? How hard was the rest of the install? I want to install one myself but not too sure about the actual connections at the engine side. Thanks for any help.

                  2" hole saw.
It is VERY easy. All wires come with connectors. Just plug everything together. The connections on the engine were easy, just follow the directions and make sure you put the little washer on the right side (you will know what I'm talking about if you do it.

nice job with the magnet idea!!! When we installed mine, we were about 1/8 inch off. I had to fab a washer to put under the the outside part to give me enough space inside to get the nut over the top. In my defense I had my contracted boat hole driller do the drilling, as always. (I hate the very idea) I suggested measuring 20 times, etc and noted where we needed clearance, and how much. He only measured 19 times....

Much funnier now than at the time, let me assure you. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

It worked out. We ended up using a cutting board for chopping veggies, and cut out a washer, drilled it the right size, sanded it thinner, beveled the edges, and so on. We still refer to it as the Nautique Repair Kit. The only consequence is that my speedo on the PP reads a little low when running the boat full speed.

So were you to close to the gas tank and it wouldn't fit?

no, just under the trans mount, if memory serves. Look at your pic #3511, closer to the metal bracket. not enough room to have the housing sit in there, that is why we had to extend it out 1/4 inch.
