Replacement Skins

I have an '04 211 ante, with about 1/4" tear on the sun deck/engine cover. I went through nautique parts.com for a new skin, but was informed that the mfg doesn't make the wineberry stripe color anymore. Does anyone know of any other place that might carry discontinued colors? Is it possible to repair the tear without making the repair look worse than the tear?

Hmm if they can't help you then you might be in trouble. I had some new skins for my boat made last year through a local upholster and he had a couple huge books full of swatches that we went through to match up colors before we started. You might want to try that route and see how close you can get. Even if they still made the original material it may not exactly match the rest of the boat as it has probably faded some since it left the factory 9 years ago. make sure you get MARINE vinyl and use MARINE stitching. The "graphic" on my 2005 engine cover, and lockers is not marine and it's from the factory. I was quoted 3k to redo my whole boat (210) labor included. or $400 for engine cover and lockers.

I think I'll take it to an upholstery shop and see if they can patch it. I was worried about the fade / color match as well. I thought I would try to search for the secondary seat color and get the stripe made in the secondary color, but they don't carry that color anymore either. I may just get plain white, and re-skin it that way next year maybe...I was hoping to keep it factory. I think I would only order the mfg skins, just to give me peace of mind on the fit and finish.

Call Zach at N3 in Indy. I sent my skins to firm that Midwest CC used to uses and the skins came back and I installed them myself. Was very happy with the product after I installed them. Send them a picture of the skim color and maybe they could send you some close color samples. I just sent my skins up and they matched them almost perfect.

Thanks for the info, I'll get in touch with them, and see what they have to say. It looks like I'm not in as much of a rush anymore, the snow was melting nicely, and then we just got close to a foot more in the last 3 days, with more on the way...so I'm not in such a panic anymore, spring is a ways off yet...again
