    Engine shut off

Have an 08 SANTE with keypad start. Started motor to warm up, and smelled something hot, tried to kill motor with keypad and got nothing. turned off with kill switch. Tried to immediately start ,and totally dead. Determined starter was rusted, so we replaced.New starter works great. Big day of surfing, and back to houseboat to find I cannot kill motor with keypad (nothing happens).

Also nad a few issues with 1 ballast button not engaging to emptying tank. Does work now.

Any ideas as we sit here on Lake Powell ready for a Spring surf session???

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

FWIW: On my '08, second time out I could not turn off the motor or ballast pumps with the keypad. I used the three position kill switch to turn everything off. All worked after that. I took it to the Correct Craft West and they said they couldn't find any issues but decided to replace the keypad just in case. I haven't had any problems since then.
