No. But I'm never more than 1 qt low to start and once I warm it up on the water, I fine tune the level to about 1/4 qt low.

I use this fitting because the nut spins which makes it easy to put on. When not in use, I thread in a hex plug. Its 12 bucks from grainger.

That's a great idea, if you swiped that pic of their website can you post a link or part #?

Suck-up does not suck! Best type I have ever owned, mine has got to be close to ten years old, works great on boats, cars, trucks, whatever.
I will usually draw out the dipstick first and finish from the drain hose

Taking the cap off does not matter at all. Engine crankcases are not sealed. There is a PCV (positive Crankcase Ventilation hose that connects to the intake manifold that sucks air and fumes out into the engine and burns them. There needs to be an open hole to the atmosphere to let air back in. This is typically the hose from the valve cover to
                  the air intake screen/filter/flame arrester.

I agree, it appears far superior to the others. The only dislike about mine is the height to diameter ratio. It is a bit tippy so I always have it in a dedicated 5 gallon bucket. Not a big deal because it helps contain any mess or residue from other jobs and ensures my carpet stays clean. I've now built several threaded tubing adapters for various tasks.

The only thing I could think of better would be to have a separator only device with a vacuum connection w/a hose running into my garage and directly connected to my yellow jacket vacuum pump. Better yet, maybe a small propane tank w/a 3-way valve at the top and pull a full vacuum in advance. I think that would be enough to pull 5 qts of oil.
