    Transmission in 2000 super air?

I'm having transmission issues and was researching replacements for my 2000 super air. I cannot find what the current part numbers are for buying a new or used transmission. The old pcm part number is of no use. From what i understand this is a Hurth. Does anyone know what the hurth part # is?

I've never heard of CC using anything but BW velvet drives with Walters v drives or PCM Vdrives. Might want to look and actually confim what is there first.

I can give you a number to a guy that bought my 1999 Super Air that was wrecked in a car accident. Engine and transmission were perfect and had 300hrs on them.

That would be great. Thanks!. Looks like a few places do still carry pcm transmissions.

Okay, I finally got the vdrive and transmission out of the boat. Transmission is a PCM-40 1:1, pretty much considered scrap by all of the builders I've spoken to since they are too expensive to rebuild. The walter vdrive was also inspected and had a broken gear which is probably what got stuck and ruined the transmission. I am now replacing both with a borg warner transmission and vdrive assembly (liberty 72-LV). My transmission guy says that this assembly is way better and will still cost less than trying to replace or rebuild what I have. I will document the process here if anyone is interested.

I'm intrested to know if that fits in the same spot and if not what you shift around to make it work. I'm thinking about motor upgrades that are probably beyond what my 71c would like to live behind and would love some ideas about what to look for when changing that out.

Hopefully you have already thought of this but make sure you keep prop rotation in mind. Your 2000 currently takes a RH prop. Depending on the setup of the trans and V-drive that could change the direction it spins and require a LH prop. You would need to change props and that opposite rotation could cause some negative handling issues since the boat was designed to spin a RH prop. Just something to think about, good luck getting your boat back up to speed.

Yes, you are correct. This setup requires a standard rotation prop so I will be changing the prop. Hopefully will not have any handling issues.

Any handling issues would probably be minor if existent at all. I would guess that CC was still using the same molds for LH 210s in 2006 that they were for the previous years RH 210s so any hull modifications were likely minor and done by hand after it came out of the mold. If there are handling issues a skilled boat builder should be able to make those modifications for you but it will probably be ok. If you surf on the regular side you will now have a better wave on that side to boot! Good luck and please keep us posted on how it turns out.

Finally got the part. Getting it in was a bit of a bear because of its size. I used a winch and some straps to get it in the boat and lined up.

Now waiting on the shaft from Elberts. The shaft needs to be 4" shorter than stock.
