    2000 SN GT40 Surge

I've been a long time reader of the forum, there is some great info here
i have a 2000 SN with a gt40, I had stalling issues, rich mixture smell, and surging. I found a bad safety switch(stalling) I measured the ECT and AIR temp switch, these were out of spec so I replaced both, measured fuel pressure, 35 at idle and 40 at WOT, I also replaced my anti siphon valve, went out today, the boat refuses to pull more than 3600 rpm, it starts surging on the accel up to WOT, what should my fuel pressure be measured a the FCC, I didn't measure here, any ideas on measuring low pump volume?
    thanks for any help

Getting ready to get in the water for more tests, any ideas? I borrowed a friends scan tool to do some under load testing, what are the symptoms of a pre pump volume problem? when i did check the fuel pressure at WOT the gauge was vibratiting between 35 and 40 psi, what seems odd to me is it seems to add power when it surges not like it going down on power

I had the same issue, and it was bad gas. Worth a shot to drain the tank, and refill it with fresh gas.

Also try changing the fuel filter

I had a similar issue and it was the fuel line pickup screen in the fuel tank.

Thanks guys, scan tool didn't offer much in the way of info, I need a ford specific scan tool to read live data, I was hoping to get throttle position and map sensor info, anyway, fuel tank comes out today, I might as well order a steering cable and get that done while the tank is out, can you guys think of anything else while I'm there?

Don't forget the simple stuff too. I had a brand new distributor cap start crossfiring after 2 weeks. Thought it was fuel, went through all the typical nightmare crap trying not to ruin vacation, never did figure it out. Threw a timing light on the wires at home, presto. Four of the cylinders were crossfiring erratically.

Replace the 2.5" long fuel line inside the FCC. The high pressure pump hangs from this line. I replace FCC fuel filter every year and the short fuel line inside the FCC about every 3 years. A crack in this line will rob high rpm performance.

There is a screen behind the inlet hose side on the low pressure pump. It is a fairly wide screen and I have never had an issue with it. If you run out of ideas, it doesn't cost anything other than time to inspect.
