08 230 TE Heater and radio question

    I have 08 230 TE
    Heater-
When I turn on the heater is doesn't blow like it would on my car. It has a very slight vent to it. Is that normal? If so is there a way to upgrade it?

    Radio-
I believe I have a newer radio on my 230, It has the USB hook up still bundled up behind the radio. Where do you guys have it run to? Pics would be awesome.

If you've already done this, pardon me for sounding simplistic, but the heater has 3 speeds. the lowest one is hitting the button once, it is very light. if you hit it twice more it will go to high. that one blows pretty good. I have a 2008 230 also.

I did just get the boat so I wondered if it was me not knowing something. When I push it once or twice it is the same with no noticeable difference. The third time it turns off. You say there should be 3 options before shutting off?

I'm 90% sure that mine has push 1,2,3 and the 4th time it turns back off. Seems like they would all be the same, but I'm not sure.

I've had two factory heaters and both have the same "logic"...

          1st push - low
          2nd push - medium
          3rd push - high
          4th push - off

On my 196 both vents were at the drivers feet and seemed to perform equally well. In my 230 the vent at the drivers feet performs significantly better than the one further back in the boat.

Ok, So you guys are correct it did have three options then shuts off the heater. When the boat is off I can push it and I can tell that the fan is trying to blow harder but it doesn't change the amount of air flow. I am thinking I have something blocking the airflow. How do I get to the heater core and how do I get to the Heater Blower Motor? I have looked all over and don't see a locations for the heater blower motor.

It's probably cause that sucker is buried behind the dash somewhere.... They hide them well.

My 2008 SN 206 does not have the factory heater but I have been doing research to install it - the heater is right behing the fuse panel board by the drivers feet. If you remove the screws the entire carpeted panel will come out and you will find the heater blower/core assembly mounted behind there. you can easily disconnect the hoses and see if you can find an obstruction - or you could take the enclosure apart and see if anything is blocking airflow.

I notice in mine that I have a couple female socket plugs hanging down from the wire harness up under my dash - am sure one is for the factory "Heatercraft" heater. THis is on my list of things to do!

                  Good luck.
                  Thanks!

Though my boat is a 210, the heater is in the same location. The heater core and blower is one assembly. Find it on the floor under the dash and then follow the vent hoses looking for blockage / holes / folds. The original hose is very thin and flexible which means it's easy to crush, tear and/or fold on itself...if any of that happens, you won't get much air through your vents. Also, if the hoses have been lengthened to reach the vents, you can have big leaks and the joints.

Mine was installed by the dealer and I had flow problems. I pulled the vent hoses and replaced them with flexible RV sewer hose I bought at WalMart. Things are much better now.
