    Removing old registration labels

hopefully just a simple one for the experienced.....

what is the best product / method for removing the old registration labels?? our local ones only go onto the windscreen

mine has a couple on each side and would like to remove them...they didn't seem to want to just pull off easily

I have had good luck heating them up with a hair dryer and then using a finger nail or plastic scaper to get under a corner. Continue to heat and pull slowly from the corner and back over the rest of the decal. That method worked well for me when I removed the old reg decals, #s and warning labels on my boat last year. If there is left over residue from the sticker I used this stuff called Goo Gone but acetone probably works just as well.

Use a heat gun or a good hair dryer and get them very warm. Once warm they will just peel off with your fingernail.
After they are off use a little paint thinner on a rag for adhesive clean up.
