    Wax/Polish on Black Boats

Curious to know what people with black boats are waxing their boat with. On my old boat, I used NuFinish at the beginning and end of season with Performance Boat Candy after each outing. I'm interested to see what people are using at the beginning of the season as their wax/polish and after each outing...

I too used NuFinish for years on both Nautiques I've owned. Last year I started using WidowWax. Excellent product - makes it so much easier to wipe down and remove water spots not to mention a great shine! You can find more details on Facebook or google search.

Don't have a black boat, but used Meguair's Flagship marine wax a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. Easy application and removal. Took me a total of 5 hrs to coat the whole 23 ft of boat. Looked great with an excellent shine. Waiting to get it to the lake to see how well it resists the brown ring. Going to use Meguairs spray wax for wipe downs.

I dont have a black boat either but Im sold on the BTS. Ive found nothing that keeps the brown ring away but it wipes off easily after BTS is applied and Ive never seen a better shine. I use an orbital buffer and BTS at the begining of the season and then pull the boat ( i keep it docked on a river) once a month or so to give it a touch up with a cloth.

Wow that Widow Wax stuff looks pretty legit! The Performance Boat Candy makes my boat look great but I noticed it leaves streaks on a black boat (it didn't do that on my old boat). Maybe I need to add a fresh coat of wax to prevent the streaking... Tried going back to Babe's last weekend but it didn't do the black justice...

So how often do you use the Widow Wax? Just at the beginning and end of the season?

Just put a coat of Widow Wax on the boat this past weekend. Decided to put it to the test this past weekend. It was a long weekend for me and kept it in a slip. Boat was filthy when I pulled it out of the water yesterday but the dirt/water spots just wiped right off with a damp towel. I used Performance Boat Candy Speed Gloss after wiping it down to give it a deeper glossier look (due to being a black boat) but you certainly don't need to do that if you don't want to. The Widow Wax stuff is awesome!

A wax product called Bow To Stern. I have never tried it but seen about an equal amount of people rave about it as those that were not that impressed. I have had good results with Collinite Fleet wax on my mostly black boat.

I'm another Bow to Stern user. But I think this will be my first and last black bottom boat. I already can see the scratches from the trailer bunks. Of course you have to look under the boat to see them but I'm picky.
