    Unmatched paint?

Take a look at these pics. Note the different color paint - any guesses as to what this is? There is no internal damage on the hull. I bought the boat last fall and was curious what might have caused this. I do not know the boat history in-depth. I was thinking perhaps the boat was scratched and then repaired? Let me know what you think.

maybe the gel coat had been wet sanded to remove some blemishes but just not buffed out?? Also, it wouldn't (shouldn't) be paint. . .

If that's near the fuel cap could it have been an overflow while fueling that was left to dry?

Thanks - it's on both rear sides of the boat. Right about where the trailer poles would be (which is a possible scratching point).

You can get some nice pads to cover those trailer guides.

Well first I'm going to say that red is probably the worst for oxidation or fading. I have an 08 220 in red with low hours and looks like it was taken pretty good care of. I have questioned the same has it been repaired. Im seeing kinda the same.Good thing is that it may polish and be fine.
