Need helping finding a good mechanic in MN

I'm curious if anyone can recommend a mechanic who knows nautiques and pcm motors in MN. I live 25 minutes south of the metro and would like to find a mechanic closer to me than the Nautique dealer at Marine Max in Rogers or Minnesota Inboard the malibu dealer. I saw a few good reviews of Son's Watersports from Correctcraftfan.com but that is an hour away as well. Also I know the hourly rate is higher at the dealers than a smaller shop.
I just got my boat back from a smaller shop close to me and was not impressed by the work. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Just an idea but do you happen to have a Tige or Centurion dealer near you? They both use PCM drive trains so they should have PCM Certified Technicians at their dealerships that should be qualified to work on your motor.

I would make the drive up to Son. Mark can take care of any PCM issue. What kind of problem do you have with the boat?

Thanks your the second person to recommend Son's to me. I will give them a try. My boat is fine now, however I want to have a place to go if any issues do come up this summer.

I would also recommend Son, as I did over on CCF to another guy.
Depending on the vintage of your boat I would avoid Marine Max in Rodgers. Unless your boat is say, 2006 or newer I would go else ware. I have been there many times myself, both with my Nautique and with my previous Sea Ray which happens to be their bread and butter. I don't like the big box store feel, they make the whole process a little too impersonal for me. That sends the feeling of they don't care about me our my boat, it is just another job. The reason I would avoid them for an older boat is they just don't have the experience. The staff there has only been working on PCM for a few years. I would much rather have a company the specializes in inboards work on my boat.

That is why I would recommend MidWest Mastercaft in Crystal as an alternative, they know their stuff and they are top notch people there. I have only been in MN Inboards a few times, but I would still go there before Marine Max. I drive past MN Inboards every time on the way to the lake and they usually have a Nautique or two sitting out.

          Here is my ranking:
          1. Son Watersports
          2. MidWest MasterCraft
          3. MN Inboards
          1997 Ski Nautique
