G25 delivered with a bad wiring harness

I recently took delivery of a new G25 and have been so disappointed in my experience. Firstly, they painted the boat the wrong color. How can this happen you say? Who the **** even knows.

However, we took the boat out anyway with hopes that I could live with the color we received or at least something could be done. We idled out of the marina, throttled up to come onto a plane, and bang, the engine cut out. Brand new boat. No engine.

After being towed back in, the boat is pulled from the water and brought back to the dealer. He looks at it and decided the wiring harness is bad. The do not have the part though, so it is going to take time to fix.

I paid $150k for this boat. A boat that was delivered to me defective. I realize there is a "break in" period for a boat, but shouldn't they be delivered free of any major defect like this?

I am aware of one other boat in my area that required an entirely new wiring harness in order to work, meaning I am not alone. I only learned this however after the fact.

Anyone else have this issue with their G? I would love to know.

I had a very similar issue on mine. It too stopped and no start. Buxton drove about 4 hours to me and repaired it. It was a connector pin on top of the engine. There is a plug that about 15 wires go inside and it had a loose pin that was never crimped. I was very upset when this happened to say the least. I think I invented a few words as we were being towed in. I had to swim the boat into the dock and walk it on the trailer by myself.

But buxton took care of me. I can't believe that your entire harness is bad. They need to find the fault and repair it instead of replacing the entire harness.

I build custom cars and understand wiring. It's tedious but a tiny single pin can cause a nightmare. You need to contact Larry at correct craft and let him know what's going on.

Do boats get water tested these days or is it too much trouble?

based on personnel experience the water test CC does is real basic, engine starts , does not sink, and gets on plane, electrical problems ,over heating due to lack of cooling will not be detected. If something does not jump out in the first couple minute, the the boat gets passed , that's where a good dealer (WLM) does a second ,thorough water test, before giving it to the customer and finds any problem before the customer take possession .

It is probably not possible to replace an entire harness. I'm not sure if we are talking boat harness or engine harness but either way its a repair.

OT: The do water test and I hope they do the engine break in trick listed in the manual. If they do the simple break in trick, I wonder why they still list it in the manual.

PS: they don't "paint" the boats and if it wasn't what you ordered you shouldn't have accepted it.

I should have said "If it wasn't what you ordered and you didn't like it, you shouldn't have accepted it."

$150k, wow!! What options/accessories did you add to get the price that high? Sorry to hear about your first run out, and the wrong gel color. I'd be upset too, but CC will make things whole with you.
