    Ballast pump not draining.

2006 Nautique 226 with Jabsco pump will not run to drain the belly tank. Fills fine just won't turn on to drain. Easy fix?

Sounds like a loose wire on the switch to me.

The switch on the keypad? I guess I did leave it out but the light is blinking on the keypad like it should to pump out.

I lost a pump replaced under warranty that had intermittent issues like not start. Would fill then decide not to empty...

I would firstly remove impeller then switch on to fill you will see the brass guide that holds impeller spinning
Then press to empty see if spins if it does impeller was jammed replace or repair
If nothing happens then need to look at switch & wiring fuses
          Good luck mark

My pump was doing the opposite but i would be willing to bet it is the same problem. Open up the battery selector box in the engine compartment (the thing with the red dial) and try to drain the ballast and listen to which one of the little black boxes 'clicks' and then replace that relay. Not super hard but unplugging the relay can be a PITA sometimes. You can get the relay at O'reilly for 19 bucks instead of the 50 that Nautique parts will charge you BTW.

I'm having the same problem with the starboard tank pump not working in the drain mode, 2006 SANTE. Anybody know where the relay is that controls the drain mode for the starboard pump?

I opened up the battery box but did not hear anything when I pushed for drain. I have a 2006 SANTE.

Try putting your hand on the relays and feel for a click.

I had the same problem last year with the belly tank. To verify if the pump will empty just unplug the power lead from the port pump (assuming it empties) and connect it to the belly pump. Then press the empty cycle on the port pump and see if the belly pump works. If so then it may be your dry run sensor.

I posted earlier but don't see it here, my 06 SANTE has breakers for fill and breakers for drain under steering wheel at driver's feet. This is in addition to the main breakers at the battery switch.

Where are the dry run sensors?

It is under the dash near the cup holder near the key pad.

Turns out that the relay was not the issue...after doing a little more research I believe the issue is with how the ballast system works on a 2006. I pulled the level sensor out of the tank and moved the float up to indicate full....the pump turned on in drain as soon as I did that. If the system thinks the tank is dry it turns off the pump in drain mode. Nothing wrong with the pump. I believe there is also a ballast tank controller on 2006 boats and later, anybody know where it is located and how it can be adjusted?
