Stripped Screws

Just looking to get some suggestions on what to use for some hinge screws that are stripped on the trap door for the plug access on my 04 SV211. I was thinking of a 2 part epoxy and then re-drill for the screws. Is this the way to go, or should I use something else?

I am not familiar with the 211 trap door you are talking about but would slightly fatter screws be able to bite enough to hold the hinge? I have what seems like a similar issue on the hinge of one of the flip up steps/under seat storage covers on my boat and that was my first thought to fixing it. Don't forget to source stainless screws if you try this method. If I get a chance to mess around with it this weekend I will let you know how it works and throw up a pic to make sure we are talking about something similar.

I had the same problem. My screws were just screwed into the thin fiberglass and always coming loose. I WEST epoxied in a maple hard wood strip and coated the strip with WEST epoxy. I reused the same screws, but now they hold into the wood behind the fiberglass. They haven't come loose since.
