Stainless steel rudder plate, Is it factory?

Hi all, I have read a lot on these forums but have not found an answer to this question.

I have a 2003 SANTE and it is fitted with a stainless steel plate around the underside of the hull where the rudder comes through, my 98 SN did not have this plate so I am curious if it is factory fitted? I have attached some pictures for quick validation.Click image for larger version

Hmm that looks like that plate was added. What prop is on there? Maybe it was installed to help prevent gelcoat burn from running a big prop with less than ideal hull clearance?

      I believe it's stock.
My previous boat ('03 SANTE) had the same plate

Woops sorry for the misinformation but looks like it was stock. Pretty sure my 99 does not have that but now you guys got me wondering so I'll have to take a look this weekend.

I was thinking same s_kelley2000, the prop is an OJ 14 x 18, but when I measured it its only 13 1/4 OD....?

It could use more holeshot for sure, the prop has some nicks and bumps so will replace it with an ACME over the winter and get the OJ repaired as a weekend saver.

Thanks wakeskier it may be a 2003 thing i guess?

Im still running the stock 14x18.,,, but with all the ballast, I need one of the 1234 / 1464 /1846 change... I was hoping to find a rebuild, but doesnt seem likely.. I have seen rebuilt 644's, which is better than what I have (for the ballast) but not ideal... I will have to save my shekels for a new one... $500+. ouch..
