Brake line on trailer (I have pics now)

I recently asked for advice on a brake line replacement for the trailer, but didn't have pics. I now have that. Also, I found that the part of the line in the picture is only about 2 feet long (only goes from the hitch to the collapsible tongue area. At that point, it has a connector to the main trailer line. You can see there is a hole where the brake line could (should) have come out and this would likely not have happened. If I replace it, I will do that.

    Questions:
    1) I was able to get some slack in the line after taking this picture which de-stressed the bad looking part in the photo. Does this look like something I need to do ASAP or when I can get around to it. I tow the boat only twice a year.

    2) If I replace the line, what's the advice on bleeding the lines? Someone suggested manually pumping them. Is it that easy?

    Thanks for any tips.

As long as you replace it in the next 12 months it will be fine it’s just the outer that is cracked.
As for bleeding after replacing, you could use a power bleeder.
You should be able to purchase one from any good auto parts shop for under $50.

To bleed the brakes just get one the inexpensive one-man brake valves, start with the caliper closest to the actuator and you should be able to actuate the piston by using a large screwdriver in the slot on the top of the actuator. You will need to keep topping off the fluid in the reservoir as you work it. After your sure the air is out of the line between the actuator and nearest wheel, move to the other side and repeat the process.

It's pretty straight forward, just a bit messy - brake fluid is nasty stuff, wear gloves.
